charles-hynesCharles J. Hynes’ decades-long run as Brooklyn’s district attorney is over.

With 95 percent of precincts reporting tonight, The Associated Press declared challenger Kenneth Thompson the winner. Thompson had a 55 percent to 45 percent lead at the time.

The race pitted the incumbent, who had touted his 24-year record as DA, against a young upstart who had said the office is “in crisis.”

Thompson, who is a former assistant U.S. attorney, begged to differ. Read more here.

  1. So David Greenfield is 0 for 3 today.

    He went on his radio show two months ago (and in other venues) and charged against Chaim Deutsch. As if the Catholic woman, or the frie Russian would be good for our community. Oh yeah, his claims were that “Chaim refused to come on my radio show.” Whoopie. Good for Chaim – a principled man.

    Chaim Deautsch won, B”H!

    He supported Heyns, and Hynes has lost.

    He quietly supported Quinn, and she has lost as well, B”H!
