IDF Soldier Stabbed in Attack in Gush Etzion


gush-An IDF soldier was lightly wounded on Friday morning after being stabbed by a Palestinian in Gush Etzion south of Yerushalayim. A fellow soldier shot the attacker in his knee.

The wounded soldier is a Bedouin who serves as a tracker in the army. He was supervising an olive harvest near the security fence near the settlement of Neve Michael, when a 16-year-old Palestinian boy stabbed him in his shoulder. MDA paramedics gave initial treatment to the soldier on the scene before taking him to Sha’are Zedek hospital in Yerushalayim.

Zohar Maman, one of the paramedics who treated the soldier, said: “When we arrived on scene we saw a young soldier walking while fully conscious with a stab injury in his upper body.”

Walla reports that the attacker is from the village of Surif, in the Chevron region.
