About three weeks after the talks between Agudas Yisrael and Degel Hatorah began, the two parties reached an agreement to combine for a joint running in the 21st Knesset.
Following long meetings between Deputy Minister Yaakov Litzman, MK Moshe Gafni, Agudas Yisrael secretary Hanoch Zeibert and Treasurer of Degel Hatorah Moshe Shifman, the parties reached a final agreement on Monday.
Ba’adrei Haredim has learned that in recent days Agudas Yisrael’s secretary-general, Seibert, has met separately with all Knesset members in Agudas Yisrael and presented them with the details of the agreement, which is scheduled for Wednesday.
As stated, the Eighth Committee of Agudas Yisrael will meet tomorrow in Yerushalayim, after which a joint faction meeting is expected to be held in which the parties will sign an agreement.
“There is ongoing negotiations with Agudat Israel, but as long as it is not closed, it is not official,” MK Moshe Gafni, head of Degel Hatorah’s office, said in response.
