Iran Attacking Jihadists in Iraq

iranIran has deployed two battalions of the Quds Forces, an elite overseas branch of its Revolutionary Guard Corps, to fight the jihadists that have overrun several Iraqi cities.

Iran, a Shiite state, is throwing its weight behind Baghdad’s Shiite prime minister in the fight against ISIS, a Sunni group. Together, the Iraqi-Iranian forces have taken back control of 85 percent of Tikrit, the birthplace of Saddam Hussein.

The forces are helping guard Baghdad, Najaf, and Karbala, which have been targeted by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham, an al Qaeda offshoot that has thrown the country into turmoil. Iran has also promised to bomb rebel forces if they come within 100 kilometers of the Iran-Iraq border. Read more at International Business Times.

  1. Better Iran than our American forces. Iraq threw us out, and than had the audacity to ask us for help. The strange thing is, Obama was considering it.
