ayatollah-ali-khameneiIran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, expressed deep skepticism Monday about the next round of nuclear negotiations with world powers, even as Tehran’s delegation headed to Vienna.

The nuclear session will “lead nowhere,” said Khamenei, who has the final say on all matters of state.

“I’m not optimistic about the nuclear talks, but not opposed to them either,” Khamenei said, adding that Iran will “never succumb to the bullying and blackmailing of America.”

Senior Western diplomats say that this round in Vienna, expected to last three days, will be spent largely trying to determine how to organize the negotiations.

Talk about wasted breath.

  1. the political breakmanship that emancipates teheran from its ogilarchy suspends all hope of arrogant returns. watershed events can’t calm a cauldron of boiling anarchy in minds collapsing from errant ideas. fairweather friends like iran subvert all justice in a wayward entity .beware of noble truancy masquerading as diplomatic buffoonery

  2. I think if he says he won’t succumb to America then we should expect that he is about to succumb to America. Why would he bother to speak the truth now?
