Iraq is reportedly nearing the end of its battle with jihadists in Mosul, the city in Iraq where the Islamic State in Iraq & Syria (ISIS) once had its stronghold.
A commander in Iraq’s Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) told Agence France-Presse Sunday that the battle to retake Mosul should be completed “within days” as forces fight the last jihadists in the city.
According to military experts, approximately 300 jihadists remain in Mosul.
Iraqi forces have been working to oust ISIS from Mosul since operations began in October of 2016. Read more at The Hill.
