hebrew-clockIsraeli has gone from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time, falling back an hour at 2 o’clock this morning.

Several years ago, the Knesset passed legislation extending Daylight Saving Time from October 6 to October 27.

This change is consistent with the clock change in Europe, instead of the previous end of Daylight Saving Time before Yom Kippur.

For many years, Israel had ended Daylight Saving Time the weekend prior to Yom Kippur in order to ease the taanis and accommodate tefillah times.

Standard Time continues until March.
