Israel came to a standstill at 10 a.m. today as sirens wailed throughout the country in memory of the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis during World War II. Hashem yikom domom.
TOI reports that buses and cars halted on streets and highways as Israelis stepped out of their vehicles and stood with heads bowed. Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel is held on the day marking the beginning of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1943.
The UN set International Holocaust Remembrance Day as January 27, the day the Red Army liberated the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp in 1945.

  1. This Yom Hashoah remembrance day is only for the secular and only in Israel. It’s not even a day where everyone says kaddish for their loved ones or does any mourning of any sort in their honor. It therefore means absolutely nothing for Hashem or for religious Jews who’s Holocaust remembrance day is on Tisha B’Av for Jews worldwide.

  2. Gruel varies. The jew still chooses abomination. There is no tish b’av.

Yom Hashoah is ok if maybe you see a survivors speech. The Torah is not understood but the world may see the event. It becomes a day to note to living people around the world of the memory of the atrocity.

    Secular but a strong plan.

Still religiously, we must observe the jewish calendar. Yom hashoah is noted by the year.
