Israelis lost an hour of sleep overnight between Thursday and Friday as the country changed to summer time. Daylight Saving Time began overnight at 2 a.m. in Israel.

At 2 a.m., clocks were turned forward one hour to 3 a.m. local daylight time.

According to Israeli law, Daylight Saving Time lasts 212 days out of the year, ending on Motzoei Shabbos, October 24.

Cell phones and computers should update automatically as long as the time zone region is set to “Jerusalem, Israel.”

Sunrise and sunset will now be 1 hour later than before and there will be more light in the evening.
