sukkah5There was some concerns by Israel’s tourist industry that this year may be an off year with the thousands of tourists who customarily fill hotels on Sukkos (begins on the eve of September 18th and ends with Simcha Torah on September 28th). With the Yomim Tovim falling so early in September, the fear was that American tourists would be fine with the warm weather on the East Coast of the US as well as Canada.

But sources say that reservations have been strong and hotels will again be full to capacity. Israel has experienced a significant boost in tourism this summer with Ben Gurion Airport recording record passenger traffic. Also in the same category with Israel is the South Florida holiday business, which travel sources say is also showing strong advanced travel sales.
