Israeli Police Arrest Palestinian Who Planned Knife Attack

A Palestinian arrested on Shabbos said he planned to use knives to carry out an attack on Israelis, police said.

Officers pulled over a 28-year-old man who “aroused their suspicion” on Motzei Shabbos east of Ramallah, a police statement posted on Twitter said. During a search of his car they uncovered two knives, including a large meat cleaver.

According to the statement, the resident of Dura in the southern West Bank then admitted to planning to carry out an attack, although the statement did not specify where. The man was arrested on the spot.
