Israel’s “Disproportionate Response”

zaka-volunteers-in-haitiMany countries and world leaders have accused Israel of responding disproportionately to aggression from Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. However, it is time that the world press and media speak of another disproportionate response from Israel.

The terrible disastrous earthquake in Haiti has generated responses from many nations. The US has sent supplies and personnel, Britain sent 64 firemen and 8 volunteers, France sent troops for search and rescue. Many large and wealthy nations of the world sent money. The Arab and Moslem world? Nothing.

Israel, a nation of 7.5 million people, sent a team of 220 people that includes medical personnel and established the largest field hospital in Haiti, treating up to 5,000 people a day, employing an experienced search-and rescue team, and providing medical supplies.

As in previous earthquake disasters, such as in Gujarat, India, in 2001 and in Turkey, in the bombings in Kenya, Israel has been one of the most generous givers of aid and assistance

Turkey seems to have forgotten this help, as its extreme Moslem government is cozying up to Iran.

Judge Goldstone, where are you now? Eating your heart out and hanging your head down in shame, we hope.

The favorite occupation in the UN is Israel-bashing. More resolutions have been passed condemning Israel than all the so-called democratic nations such as Sudan, China, Russia and others for their crimes against their minorities.

Perhaps it is time that the world knows about Israel’s “disproportionate response.”

  1. Could someone call up National Public Radio or some other left wing talk shows and give them this speech. It doesn’t help much to post it on Matzav!

  2. Yes, the chiloni Jews at the Israeli field hospital are certainly drawing a lot of attention for their efficacy and expertise, making an exceptional kiddush Hashem.

  3. Just to be accurate, Qatar sent a C-17 with 50 tons of supplies. Merely trying to be accurate here. I do agree that’s a miniscule response from the Arab world

  4. #5 There was never a monopoly on Kiddush Hashem
held exclusively by the Daatiyim. We just keep hoping there will be more kiddush hashem. The biggest are probably keeping Shabbos and Shmittah.

  5. If my memory is not failing, when the Zaka GUYS were relaying the way they were mechalel shabos with pride and how they davened with taleisim etc. They were saying how they were there side by side with Egyptian and Jordanian rescue teams…..

I’m sure they’re doing nothing compared to the Israelis but you must be accurate.

    Thank you for this post!!

  6. Comment #8: How can you say this Motzoei Shem Ra on the wonderful Bnei Torah rescue workers of ZAKA???

What they were doing was obviously NOT, Chas V’Shalom, Chillul Shabbos – breaking Shabbos; rather it was what they were Mechuyav Al Pi Halacha – what they were required according to the laws of our Torah to do!!!

  7. all those who are so proud of israel when the media has good things about them, must be ashamed when the media is berating them, rather than cry anti-semite about everyone or anyone that dares to say a word against the holy cow of zion.

  8. I HEARD A BIG ROV ON THE RADIO TODAY SAY HOW EVEN AMIDST THIS TRAGEDY WE CAN SEE THE “CHASDEI HASHEM”, SINCE THERE WERE TWO BROTHERS AND A SISTER FOUND ALIVE TODAY, 1 WEEK AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE.
    GIVE ME A BREAK-CHASDEI HASHEM?
MURDERING IN THE MOST GRUESOME FASHION 270,000 PEOPLE-INNOCENT MEN WOMEN AND CHILDREN, ELDERLY, INFANTS AS WELL AS THE DESTRUCTIO9N OF HOSPITALS TO TAKE CARE OF THEM.
AND YOU SAY CHASDEI HASHEM? FOREVER WHATEVER REASON, I THINK IT A FAIR ASSUMPTION THAT MIDAS HADIN IS GOIVER AT THIS TIME, IN GREATER THAN “BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS” AND THE NOTION OF A MASHEHU OF CHESED FROM HASHEM, THERE IN HAITI, IS TOTALLY ABSURD.

  9. Thank you for that heresy, Say Wha.

And by the way, there is absolutely no need to use capital letters. This is the email equivalent of SHOUTING. I can assure you that neither your readers, nor haShem, are deaf.

  10. Englisher Yid, very well put. As to “Say Wha”,I obviously have no idea whether you are Torah observant, but the verbiage you used,at least as far as “buzz-words”,would lead me to beleive you are;Hashkafa-wise though, you are in dire need of “tune-up.
