Jeb Bush endorsed former rival Ted Cruz early today, dubbing the controversial Texas senator as “a principled conservative.”
Bush, who suspended his own presidential campaign about one month ago, urged others not to consider real-estate mogul Donald Trump in the race. Bush told CNN that Cruz “has demonstrated the ability to appeal to voters and win primary contests.”
During the campaign, Bush called Trump a “bully” and “not a conservative.” He repeated that sentiment Wednesday: “We must move to overcome the divisiveness and vulgarity Donald Trump has brought into the political arena, or we will certainly lose our chance to defeat the Democratic nominee.” Read more at CNN.
