Jeb Bush Wants Rubio for VP

jeb-bushFormer Florida Gov. Jeb Bush thinks Sen. Marco Rubio is ready to be vice president and he shared those thoughts with presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney, he said Wednesday.  

Bush said he has been a huge fan of Rubio’s for years and hopes that Romney chooses him. He said he made his pitch to Romney in a recent conversation, but the former Massachusetts governor didn’t reveal which direction he was leaning. Bush said the choice is a personal one and respects Romney for keeping his thoughts close to his vest.

Romney has said he is considering Rubio, a freshman senator who was elected in 2010.

  1. Yes, but is he ready to be President? Remember that Pres. Johnson inherited the office from the assassinated Pres. Kennedy. Pres. Roosevelt died in office making Mr. Truman President. Pres. Nixon resigned, leaving Mr. Ford President. And then there was the attempted assassination of Pres. Reagan. The VP is indeed “only a heartbeat away from the presidency.” There are those who believe that one reason Mr. McCain lost in 2008 was that many people were afraid that Sarah Palin wasn’t ready for the presidency if anything should happen to the elderly Mr. McCain.

    So – is Mr. Rubio ready to be president? Most people misght think, “Not yet.”

  2. I don’t want Rubio, for the very reasons that Gov. Bush does want him — as a Floridian, I want him to stay in the Senate.
