A Yerushalayim Jew mistakenly buried in a non-Jewish grave will hopefully be transferred to a Jewish cemetery in the near future.

The error occurred because the body of the immigrant from the former Soviet Union was found some time after his death with no documentation indicating that he was Jewish. No one knew he had died until Social Security officials approached the yeshiva where he learned in his final years, which was registered as his last address. Bochurim decided to recite Kaddish at his kever and were astounded to discover that he was buried among non-Jews.

The first step of the process was to officially ascertain that he was Jewish. Now that this has been done, he will hopefully be transferred to a Jewish grave.
