A New York judge reportedly reduced ex-NYPD officer Peter Liang’s second-degree manslaughter conviction down to criminally negligent homicide in the shooting death of Akai Gurley.
Liang had previously faced up to 15 years in prison, but will now serve five years probation and 800 hours of community service after a Brooklyn district attorney recommended a lighter sentencing. Read more at NY1.
