As Americans go to the polls, mekubalim in Yerushalayim are doing their part to help Mitt Romney pull through and win the presidency. Rabbeim and talmidim at Yeshiva Chatzos in Yerushalayim were saying Tehillim and tefillos to influence the election, and “turn the hearts of voters to Romney,” one student present at the atzeres tefillah told reporters, according to Arutz Sheva.
Along with the tefillos, participants were asked to give tzedakah to the poor, and the aron kodesh in the yeshiva was opened, emphasizing the importance of the tefillos, the student said.
“Why Romney? “The current president, Barack H. Obama, has proven that he is not a friend of Israel,” the student said, according to Arutz Sheva.
A rebbi responsible for organizing the atzeres tefillah said that the yeshiva had been contacted “by people from abroad asking us to pray for Romney’s victory.”
