Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu and Finance Minister Yair Lapid finally agreed today to tap interim bank chief Karnit Flug, 58, to the top spot, after dickering for four months.
She was chosen to fill the shoes of Stanley Fischer who retired at the end of June, over three other candidates: economics professor Zvi Eckstein, former Argentine central banker Mario Blejer and former United Mizrachi Bank Chief Executive Victor Medina.

What kind of name is Karnit?
#1 Related to Karnei Re’em.
I think it’s supposed to be Kermit the Frog.
Those of you who question her appointment,
should perhaps learn a little bit about her,
before you laugh at her just because of her
name.
I doubt if you guys are even trusted to make
change from your Shuls pushka!

Why not look at the person, and not the name!
I was actually asking a serious question as this is a rare and unique name.
