Kars4kids Launches Back-to-School Contest: Make Your Own Kars4Kids Jingle

kars-4-kids[Video below.] Kars4Kids, the national car donation program run by Oorah Kiruv Rechokim and known for its persistent “1-8-7-7-Kars-for-Kids” jingle, is giving away gift certificates to students who sing their jingle. Staples gift certificates of $100 each will be awarded for creativity. Professional recording artists are participating in the promotion. The Kars4Kids Jingle Contest allows anyone to perform, recreate or otherwise spoof our well-known jingle.”The Kars4Kids Jingle Contest allows anyone to perform, recreate or otherwise spoof our well-known jingle,” said Yehudah Meth, VP of Communications. “The Kars4Kids jingle gets inside people’s heads and sometimes they can’t get it out, so we’re giving folks a chance to do it their way.”

Kars4kids is giving away valuable prizes including, Fender Stratocasters, WII systems, and a Bose home theater system. For students, five (5) additional $100.00 Staples gift certificates will be awarded to selected student entries made before September 30.

“This contest isn’t just for musicians or people good with a video camera,” notes Yehudah Meth. “Anyone with a little creativity will have a chance to win.”

The original is better. #1, if people like it or not, they recognize it, and that’s the whole point.

There are many people who don’t like the jingle, but most Americans love it. Many American children go around singing the jingle to themselves (and make their parents crazy)

I know the kid who sang this when he was nine for oorah. He is now 16 and learning in a fantastic Yeshiva, and still has an amazing voice!!
