kentucky[Video below.] Kim Davis, the county clerk for Rowan County, Kentucky, who has been denying marriage licenses to same-gender couples, was found in contempt of court and taken into custody Thursday.

Davis refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples despite the Supreme Court denying her case. She said she was acting “under God’s authority.”

The ACLU has argued Davis should be fined for collecting money from the state while not performing a job that she is being paid to do. Read more at the Lexington Herald-Leader.

  1. Good, she committed a crime, if her religion forbid her to do her job she could quit. What would we say if a Jehovah Witness refused us a marriage licence because we are jewish?!?

  2. A good decision.

Her religious dream to negate a court order must have her resign her post.

She is not the national authority and her actions are in contempt of a court order.

Given we as Torah jews do not agree our fate can include Toeivah marriage, this is blackening the day of a Supreme Court decision.

Her legal rights stopped where her boundaries crossed separation of church and state.

However you prefer the future, she is not a hero for American justice.

Her rights are her own house and liberties. By our constitution, the men and women seeking their lawfully ordained documents by American law supercede and idea of faith she assumes to control the fate of others.

This is a good decision. She deserves jail time and should not have this public role.

    America must function.

Hot bed issue. Lazy bed fate.

Good jews can see we do not marry in this style but we live in a nation where this is the law and order given in our era.

    This is not naziism.

This is just American hew by new cause.

Give this respect. We must stand up for the constitution.

The sins of the toeivah are between G-d ans sinner. Not sinner and government. That is the degree that IS naziism.

    She is not a martyr.

  3. We all should send messages of support for her courageous act. This Supreme Court decision effects us all. We can’t possibly shield our children from their new reality. We dare not be silent in the face of the tragedy.

  4. To Comment #1 from “Eli,” Comment #2 from “Concerned for HKB”H honor,” Comment #3 from “Betzalel,” Comment #4 from “IsraelReader,” Comment #5 from “Truth emerges,” and Comment #9 from “David,” I empathetically say:

“TRIPLE OF TRIPLE OF TRIPLE DITTOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

  5. Of course, I give my “TRIPLE OF TRIPLE OF TRIPLE DITTOES” also to the three more excellent remarks of Comment #10 from (again) “Concerned for HKB”H honor,” Comment #11 from “One Nation,” and Comment # 12 from “shmerel.”

  6. THIS IS A SEVERELY TRAGIC DAY IN AMERICAN HISTORY!! That Kim Davis has now been, ACTUALLY INCARCERATED, RACHMANA LITZLAN, (with the six deputy clerks being likewise coerced and threatened), glaringly shows that very unfortunately, our nation is no longer a democracy but is rapidly becoming an outright wicked tyranny!! What hitherto were revered hallowed wonderful declarations of “Freedom of Religion” and “Sweet Land of Liberty,” are quickly being turned into empty hollow meaningless veneers.

  7. Obviously, we have a Chov Kodesh – a sacred obligation to give to give to Mrs. Davis whatever support and assistance that we can.

Obviously, we have a Chov Kodesh – a sacred obligation to be Mispallel that Mrs. Davis will be immediately fully released from prison.

(Likewise, we have a Chov Kodesh – a sacred obligation to be Mispallel that all truly innocent people who are being wrongly incarcerated, including Mr. Pollard, “Yehonatan Ben Malka,” and Mr. Rubashkin, “Shalom Mordechai Ben Rivka,” will be immediately fully released from prison.)

  8. Obviously, we have a Chov Kodesh – a sacred obligation to be Mispallel that the wicked U.S. District Judge David Bunnin who ordered the incarceration of Mrs. Davis and the other officials who pushed for her punishment, will all have a terrible Mapala B’Karov – a complete downfall very soon.

  9. TO ALL THOSE WHO FEEL SHE SHOULD GO TO JAIL. I WONDER IF SHE WAS FIGHTING SLAVERY WHEN IT WAS THE LAW OF THE LAND AND SHE PROTESTED AND WOULD NOT COMPLY WITH THE LAW WOULD YOU ALSO SAY GOOD SHE SHOULD GO TO JAIL. IF YOU REMEMBER MATISYAHU WHO REVOLTED AGAINST THE GREEKS BECAUSE HE DID NOT WANT TO FOLLOW THE LAW OF THE LAND WOULD YOU ALSO SEND HIM TO JAIL. YIDDEN THINK THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM HASHEM. PERHAPS HASHEM WANT US TO DO THE SAME!!!!!!!!! BEFORE THE EARTHQUAKES COME.
