Keren to Assist Family of Rav Moshe Litke zt”l

Rav Moshe Litke zt”l, a much loved and admired teacher and rebbi for over twenty years, had a massive heart attack on Monday evening at Ben Gurion Airport while boarding a plane back to Manchester, as first reported by

Rav Moshe passed away there in front of his wife and three young children.

The levayah took place yesterday in Bet Shemesh.

The almanah and yesomim are returning home to Manchester tomorrow to continue sitting shivah.

In fact, the family home was sold two weeks ago with the intention of buying an apartment, which hasn’t happened yet.

A group of askonim led by three rabbonim in Manchester have set up a keren for the family with the intention of alleviating any financial pressure from them for the next years. A goal of £200k has been set.

Due to the sensitivity of the situation, all public fundraising must end when the family gets up from shivah.

All are asked to assist. Rabbonim have confirmed to that this is a very serious situation and thus all are asked to extend themselves as much as possible.

In the zechus of helping an almanah and yesomim, may we all be zocheh to simcha and nachas until the coming of Moshiach.

  1. I knew him very well and I can attest that this man gave so much to so many young people. He was an accepting soul and believed in the goodness of each human spirit, even when those very spirits didn’t believe in their own goodness He was sympathetic to the human condition with all of its pain and weakness and respected it’s fight.
