Early this morning, Secretary of State John Kerry flew to Cairo to join diplomatic efforts to bring stability to the Middle East. His trip follows a weekend that saw a sharp increase in casualties, with Sunday marking the deadliest day for both Israelis and Palestinians.
Kerry is expected to push for a return to the truce agreed to in November 2012, as well as encouraging Hamas to agree to the Egypt-proposed ceasefire.
Since fighting broke out two weeks ago, more than 20 Israelis have been killed. Two of the Israeli soldiers killed were from the U.S.: Max Steinberg, 24, of California and Sean Carmeli, 21, of Texas. Read more.

KERRY —ANY CEASEFIRE SHORT OF DISMANTLING OF HAMAS’ WEAPONRY AND TUNNEL SYSSTEM IS USELESS AND FUTILE BECAUSE THIS BECOMES A TEMPORARY LULL AND GIVES HAMAS TIME TO REGROUP AND BEGIN THE NEXT ROUND. ISRAELI CIVILIANS ARE SICK AND TIRED OF ROCKETS AND SIRENS DAILY….NO OTHER SOCIETY ON EARTH HAS TO ENDURE SUCH TERROR AND ROCKETS TO ALL ITS CITIZENS. THEREFORE ISRAEL SHOULD REFUSE ANY CEASEFIRE THAT DOES NOT ADDRESS THIS GRAVE CONCERN TO THE ISRAELI’S SATISFACTION. ALSO , MR. KERRY–ASK YOURSELF WHAT THE USA WOULD DO IF THEY WERE IN THE SAME PREDICAMENT AS THE ISRAELIS?? THEY WOULD COMPLETELY DESTROY AND ERADICATE THE ENEMY AND ITS CAPABILITIES..(WITHOUT ANY PREWARNING LEAFDLETS).SO PLEase either let the Israelis finish their mission , or send iN US or NATO troops to help them finish the job quicker.(if the job is taking too long for you..).
Besides using the United Nations Refugee Organization to hide/store missiles and besides the remark off the air, however while his(Kerry’s) mike was on , rather upset at Israel for going into Gaza who needs such characters to initiate a truce.
