Hours after rejecting his proposal for a week-long ceasefire, Secretary of State John Kerry said that Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu has agreed to pause the war against Gaza for 12 hours beginning Shabbos morning.
Israeli cabinet members had rejected Kerry’s proposal so it could continue discussions about how to improve the proposal in Israel’s favor.
35 Israelis have been killed in the past two weeks of fighting.
“The whole world is watching tragic moment after tragic moment unfold and wondering when is everybody going to come to their senses,” Kerry said in Cairo. Read more at Haaretz.
