A survey of American scholars of international relations has ranked US Secretary of State John Kerry the least competent officer to hold the position in the past 50 years. The survey, conducted by Foreign Policy magazine, ranked Kerry 13th of 13.

The annual Ivory Tower survey polled over 1,600 scholars from 1,375 colleges across the US, asking questions about a range of issues, from the best programs of study to policy itself.

Henry Kissinger was chosen as the top diplomat, with 32.32 percent of those polled naming him the best at his job. Kerry received less than 0.5 percent of the vote. Kerry’s predecessor, Hillary Clinton, and Madeleine Albright tied for fourth place with 8.7 percent.

  1. What Kerry is is a small choice of bad moods for an easy change in limited direction.

He plays his cards with his knee and not his hands.

This guy is just a limited affair. 2 more years and we have more competence. Lets hope.

  2. Disagree.

James Baker III was better than Kissinger

Hillary Clinton, and Madeleine Albright were both worse

The survey shrewdly only went back 50 years

since just before that Dulles and Acheson were better

  3. Dulles was better?????

He got Eisenhower to threaten UN sanctions against Israel if it didn’t withdraw from Sinai and Gaza after the Suez War.

And Kissinger was every bit as strong a bully against Israel during the Ford Administration.

Baker has hated Israel since the 1940s.

The blind allegiance to the Republican Party is showing here.
