The Obama administration is putting together its own coalition of the willing. Secretary of State John Kerry announced today that Saudi Arabia will support a military “strike” in Syria.
He also said the United States has convinced other Arab countries to sign onto a statement acknowledging that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons against his own people. Known as the “G-20 side statement,” the document came about as world powers met in Russia to discuss a variety of international issues.
Qatari Foreign Minister Khalid al-Attiyah said his country supports the statement, especially because countries like Russia and Iran are already involved on Assad’s side. Read more at The Washington Post.
