About an hour before Shabbos Parshas Ki Sisa-Parah, the kever of the Tiferes Shlomo of Radomsk, located between Warsaw and Cracow, near Lodz, in central Poland, was found burnt.
Matzav.com was told that the fire seems to have started from candles that were lit near the kever that are not suited for that purpose. Local fire brigades were called to extinguish the fire, but the kever was already severely damaged.
Apparently, the people who lit these candles were told in the past not to do so because of the danger it poses, but they ignored these admonitions and did so anyway, leading to Friday’s blaze that destroyed the tziyon.
In the coming days, a project will be initiated for the redevelopment of the entire tziyon complex, including renovation of the kever itself.
Furthermore, a large hospitality area is being built near the kever, with construction to be completed in a few months.
