Jae Kyung LeeKiryas Yoel – A suspect is under arrest after allegedly stabbing a man with an ice pick inside a shul in Kiryas Yoel, reports News 12 Hudson Valley.

Police say the victim had just finished davening when he was attacked inside the shul shortly before 1 p.m.

The suspect, Jae Kyung Lee, was quickly taken out of the Charidim shul on Van Buren Drive in handcuffs.

56-year-old Lee, who lives in Monroe, is a janitor at the shul. He attacked 35-year-old R’ Eliezer Wolner in the leg with a screwdriver. Police say the attack does not appear to be a hate crime.

Hatzalah treated the victim at the scene for a puncture wound.

Despite the incident , the shul is open.

Jae Kyung Lee is charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon and will face a judge later this evening.
