Krauthammer: Obamacare 7.1 Million Enrollees Claim is a “Phony Number”

krauthammerPresident Obama announced yesterday that 7.1 million Americans have enrolled on health-insurance plans through Obamacare, a number that is “wonderfully precise,” according to Charles Krauthammer. “These guys go six months without any idea what the numbers are, and all of a sudden it’s to a decimal point.”

However, Krauthammer also thinks the 7.1 million enrollees touted by the administration is a “phony number” because it’s unclear how many of that 7.1 million have paid for their insurance and how many were previously uninsured.

“If it turns out that the overwhelming majority of the so-called 7.1 were people who had health insurance, liked their health insurance, were renewing their health insurance, and got kicked off their health insurance, whose lives are disrupted, premiums are raised, deductibles are raised, and lost their doctors are now among the 7.1 . . . it’s a net negative,” Krauthammer said.

  1. I agree with Krauthammer. obama will say just about anything to get attention as to say hey my obamacare is working and people like it. but yet its true obama will lie about anything to get a like from the american people.

  2. Krauthammer is correct: Of course you cannot believe that the Obama Administration’s statements have any scintilla of truth to them. They have spent nearly six years lying through their teeth to the American people. And anything about ObamaCare has been their biggest lie yet!

  3. A lone voice in the wilderness crying out that “The King Has No Clothes!” But unfortunately, no one has been able to refute anything he has ever said with any real success
He is a master of demagoguery whose technique is immune to facts amd logic

  4. Krauthammer is delusional. He has no evidence that anything is amiss with the numbers. People have been tracking enrollments carefully since October. This is like Karl Rove on election night 2012 insisting that the election was close even as the networks were calling it for Obama. The Romney people were so disconnected from reality that they did not realize that there were only two close states, Florida (which Obama won, but did not need) and North Carolina (which Romney won).

  5. It would not be that really important to worry about the exactedness of the number enrolled, but the liability of Mr. Krauthammer is that he wishes incapacitation for the future of American Health Care. I would not be concerned if he actually had a bagel with his own ghost.

  6. Ben Shapiro has detailed why the 7.1 million number is phony and meaningless.

Here is a brief summary of his points.

The 7.1 million statistic is a meaningless one. It’s meaningless for a variety of reasons:

It Doesn’t Measure How Many People Have Actually Paid.

7.1 Million Enrollees in the Private Exchanges Doesn’t Mean 7.1 Million Who Were Previously Uninsured. Some five million Americans saw their policies cancelled thanks to Obamacare.

The Chief Beneficiaries of Obamacare Have Been Medicaid Recipients and 26-Year-Old Basement Dwellers.

The Huge Majority of Those Signing Up Are Getting Subsidies – and Even Those Who Are Subsidized Aren’t Signing Up.

How Much Will The Numbers Drop? These are all preliminary statistics. We now know that somewhere between 2% and 5% of people who paid their insurance bills in January did not do so in February, to go along with the high percentage of people who signed up and never paid at all

Obamacare is the destruction of the once great American medical system which took in people from countries that could not provide the same level of care such as Canada, England and Israel in some cases. It is not providing the care to the uninsured in its stead.
