whooping-coughA whooping cough outbreak has hit the frum communties of Boro Park and Williamsburg, mostly because a significant number of families refuse to vaccinate their children, the New York City Health Department said in an alert, Hamodia reports.

The department said that they have detected 21 confirmed cases of whooping cough, or pertussis, from October 2014 through April 2015. That includes 18 children and three adults.

“Among the children,” the alert noted, “12 were unvaccinated, two were vaccinated but not up to date.”

None of the mothers of the infants had received the recommended TDAP vaccination while they were expectant.

  1. Playing with matches sometimes causes fires for other people.
Those not taking the necessary inoculations, may have a “din” of a “rodef” for putting their children and others into danger.,

  2. it is very selfish for parents to play with their childrens’ lives and not get them vaccinated. it is also selfish to send these kids to parks and schools and camps….when they are not vaccinated as they can endanger people who are immunocompromised, elderly or vulnerable to the disease
