christie-corzine[Updated below.] By request of many readers of Matzav.com, we pesent here the Lakewood, NJ, district-by-district reults of yesterday’s gubernatorial election in which Chris Christie defeated incumbent Jon Corzine and independent Chris Daggett. In Lakewood, Christie received the majority of the vote.

In the following list of the 38 districts, the first number represents votes for Christie, while the second number represents Corzine’s votes.

  1. The Vaad didn’t do as poorly as people think. Figure there were around 8000 orthodox voters (the margin of Meir & Menashe over their running mates). Figure 80% of those voted in the Gov election (presuming high abstention rate due to the controversy). Subtract this numnber from the overall Lakewood Gov totals to figure the number of votes cast from outside our community. Now multiply this number by the Gov race %s accross Ocean county to estimate the vote distribution of nonOrthodox voters in the Gov election in Lakewood. The difference between that projected distribution and the actual totals is the impact of the orthodox vote on the Gov election. By my math, it was about even at ~3200 votes each.
