  1. Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing –

One group is offering free health care screening – including checks for obesity, blood pressure and diabetes, and the other is offering free vouchers for cholesterol- and carb-loaded pizza to collect tzedakah for a health-preservation organization.

    Maybe they could coordinate?

  2. Who’s being sarcastic? Hatzalah, which does such heilige work in saving lives, should know that poor dietary habits – such as over-indulgence in junk food – is contributing to many of the emergencies, such as heart attacks, that they respond to.

A greater awareness in the community of health issues such as diet and exercise would save many lives – and help prevent the premature deaths that leave families of widows and orphans when young men in their 30’s and 40’s die needlessly of heart disease.
