Lakewood: No Bus Service Wednesday, Abbreviated School Schedule; Passaic Schools Closed

snow1[Update below.] 1:05 a.m.: Lakewood, NJ – Several inches of snow have already fallen at the time of this writing, but Matzav.com has learned that a decision has already been made for public schools in Lakewood to be closed on Wednesday. Local yeshivas, and girls schools have yet to make an announcements regarding classes in the morning, but with public schools closed, there will be no bussing available for students whose schools would decide to open.

The large coastal storm expected to dump up to a foot of snow on parts of New Jersey, including Lakewood.

The New Jersey State Police activated its emergency operations center at 6 p.m. last night, and will be working closely with all 21 county offices of emergency management and the National Weather Service throughout the duration of the storm.

Update, 8:45 a.m.: Most girls and boys schools will be open with a delayed and abbreviated schedule. Call your school for details.

Township plows are out in full force working the streets. Stay off the streets if you can.

In Passaic, NJ, schools are closed.
