sid-roth-they-thought-for-themselvesMany Lakewood, NJ, residents were astonished to discover a messianic book in their mail this week, only to find out they weren’t the only ones to receive this free ‘gift.’ A large segment of the kehillah, for reasons still unknown, received the book titled “Ten Amazing Jews, They Thought For Themselves,” authored by Sid Roth.

Roth, a former account executive for Merrill Lynch, was raised in a traditional Jewish home. In his own words, “religious tradition provided no answers when he hit rock bottom in 1972. With his life out of control and his marriage in shambles, Sid was set free from demonic oppression through a supernatural encounter with J-. Immediately, he began to boldly proclaim J- as the Jewish Messiah. In 1977 Sid started a ministry called ‘Messianic Vision’ and a nationally syndicated radio broadcast by the same name.

On his website, Roth states: “The Messianic Vision is more than a ministry or a program; it is a desire to reach out with the good news of the Messiah, ‘to the Jew first’…”

Needless to say, the missionary book should be discarded. Several Lakewood residents related to Matzav.com that because the book appeared harmless, they did not immediately realize its content and aim and did not immediately dispose of it.

  1. This is the problem which about I have once conversation on this forum.
My adversary asked if it is necessary to “drag” people trough the Christian experience in stories told by some of the gerim. For reason like above I said – yes.
Being ex clergy myself and for already big part of my life frum Jew I wrote the book.
In large part it is based on my own dealing with my previous religion.
I talk there about some insides of this type of so called messianic groups. There is long chapter about genesis of New Testament and beginnings of Christian religion. All, with a lot of historic facts and some quotations an analysis of Christian writings of first four centuries.
Great tool to use, for helping people like Sid Roth to understand their steps, but not only. A real insider view of those issues
Within last 12 years I asked few of major publishers to publish this book. It didn’t happened. Within next 2 -3 months it will be finally published with my own koichos I-H.
But for some people may be to late.

  2. One wonders what aveira the receivers did to warrant them being punished by having this avodah zarah delivered into their daled amos .
