In today’s elections, there are four seats on the ballot, rather than the usual three. One person will run for the one-year unexpired term and five will vie for the three full terms on the school board.

58-year-old Ada Gonzalez is the incumbent running for the unexpired term.

60-year-old Carl Fink, 31-year-old Yechezkel Seitler, 30-year-old Yitzchok Zlatkin and 27-year-old Yisroel Friedman, are all challenging 43-year-old incumbent Tracey Tift for the full terms.

Seitler has been involved with the Board of Education by serving on the transportation committee and the superintendent search committee.

Zlatkin, an actuarial analyst, currently attends Fox School of Business at Temple University and resides in Presidential Estates.

Fink is currently co-chairman of the Lakewood Planning Board and runs a sporting goods business.

Residents in Districts 10 and 13 should note that beginning with the upcoming School Board elections, their polling place has been moved from the John J. Franklin Public Works building on America Avenue to the Lakewood High School, located at 755 Somerset Avenue. The Election Districts remain the same.
