A new study says Americans are dumping twice as much trash in landfills as previously expected—an average of 5 pounds per person per day.
Researchers from Yale University analyzed data collected at 1,200 U.S. landfills since 2010, and say their numbers are more accurate than the Environmental Protection Agency’s figures because they used actual data on trash deposited to landfills rather than estimates. Read more.

So what? There is a massive amount of space available in landfills. Instead they are burning gas/oil and paying unionized garbage men to truck the garbage to some remote place hundreds of miles away. Another Obama/democratic stupidity foisted on the world.
