Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid announced that Tzefas Chief Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu is unfit to serve as a city rov due to his criticism of Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot.

Rav Eliyahu charged that due to Eizenkot’s support of “purity of arms,” expressed in a recent statement that a soldier shouldn’t empty a gun on someone who murders a Jew, a soldier at last week’s murder of Rav Itamar Ben-Gal tried to ram the terrorist with his vehicle instead of emptying a gun on him.

“The Chief of Staff isn’t a deity and I can criticize him and his decisions,” Rav Eliyahu said.

  1. This is funny. Lapid the pork-eating, Shabbos-trampling, Torah-hating son of an apikorus feels himself qualified to determine who is qualified to be a rabbi.

  2. I do not have a problem with this issue and Mr. Lapid has his right.

The era of world of rabbonim against the military is here yet one wonders what Hashem will change. We daven to see faith improve.

Could be Hashem’s way to keep Lapid in his chair. Fear G-d. There is a cult to progress only the wit it be wrong.

  3. So this sheiketz will tell us who’s fit and who’s unfit to be a Rav, hmm….
Rav Shmuel Eliyahu shlit”a should go to the grave of the great-grandfather of Lapid, Rav Shmuel Shmelke Klein zt”l, author of Tzeror HaChaim, Rav of Chust and Salish, and pray that he intercede in Heaven that Hashem remove the Tzorer HaYehudim from Israel until he does tshuva.

  4. A little irrelevant, but people must remember that Bibi is no less of a rasha and a menuval as Lapid. I’ve noticed that people generally associate Lapid as the monster. Netanyahu is just as bad.
