michael-fraginLawrence, NY – Incumbents Michael Fragin and Joel Mael were returned to office for another term after Tuesday’s election for trustee in the incorporated Village of Lawrence. The two ran unopposed; however, an eleventh hour write-in campaign was mounted when it became apparent that the voter turnout was the poorest in the history of elections in the village. As the polls closed at 9:00 p.m. Tuesday night, it became clear that the insurgent campaign would fail as people who were called and asked to come out to vote failed to do so.

At the conclusion of the day, Mr. Fragin drew 85 votes and Mr. Mael, 82 votes. Lawrence resident David Seidemann drew 22 votes and David Englander, 18 votes. The remaining trustees are Simon Felder and Ed Klahr, the mayor of Lawrence is Martin Oliner.

  1. Thank you. It was a hard fought victory, but we knew that in the end the Fragin-Mael message would resonate most with voters.
