To save costs, Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman has decided to close the Or Etzion Yeshiva, founded in 1977 by Rav Chaim Druckman. Rav Druckman was furious that non-religious pre-military programs in Haifa slated to be closed were to remain open.
“A year ago, the former defense minister called me and told me that it was decided to close the two non-religious military units in Haifa and the religious ones in Or Etzion,” he told Channel 2. “No matter what I thought about it, if the IDF decided to close both of them, I would have accepted the decree… But a few months ago, I heard that the program in Haifa would be left open and only the religious program would be closed down.”
Druckman fought hard to save his yeshiva. His efforts included meeting with the prime minister’s bureau chief and the cabinet secretary, but it was to no avail.

Good. Let his students join a chareidi yeshiva and avoid the army. Let them grow as authentic Torah Jews.

Thank you for letting you ignorant self be exposed. Do you know anything about Rabbi Drukman? Anything about his yeshiva? Anything about the attached military academy? I spent 2 years at the military academy before moving back to the states and then enrolling in what you would call a chareidi yeshiva and grow as an authentic Torah Jew. I will tell you that other than the hashkafic difference (and yes, that is all it is) between the 2, the move was seamless. The learning, dikduk hamitzvos and everything else was all the same. Ok, maybe there was one more difference, secular studies were taken more seriously and there wasn’t the chutzpah towards the secular studies teachers and there were no thoughts of cheating on exams. But I understand that since that was the attitude of Or Etzion and not the chareidi yeshiva, seriousness, proper kavod and not cheating must not be an authentic Torah hashkafa.
They are authentic Torah Jews. Your suggesting they leave that status.
As a resident of Merkaz Shapira I must say that the yeshiva has proper authentic jews. The Rosh Yeshiva Rav Haim Drukman Shlita is a godol batorah who is well respected in israeli dati leumi society.
Nu nu regardless if rav drukman is Talmud chacham or not. When will the mizrachi tiburon (and some chareidim) realize that the state of Israel hates the ribono shel oilam ,and all avde Hashem. so either beet them or join them.
