Minister of Defense Avigdor Lieberman spoke directly to the people of Gaza this week, pleading with them to end the strife with Israel and to replace their leaders with ones willing to become allies with their neighbor.
In an interview that was translated into Arabic, the defense minister directly addressed the residents of the Gaza Strip:
“My message to the people of Gaza is simple. You can choose between poverty and unemployment, and work and livelihood. Between hatred and bloodshed, and coexistence and personal security. We can be your best partners in the effort to transform the refugee camps into Singapore of the Middle East.
“All that is needed for this is recognition of the right of the State of Israel to exist in peace, demilitarization and the regulation of the issue of POWs and MIAs. If your leadership is not prepared for this, then you will replace the leadership.
