  1. I’m not very surprised. In theory the catholic religion is supposed to forbid suicide, euthanasia and so on. In practice, see Belgium – enough said. One last thing: we are in exile and it is none of my business that catholic hospitals, nursing homes, hospices have protocols which are compliant with catholic doctrine and yet “shorten suffering”, but I do have a problem with them being applied to unwilling patients, especially if not catholic but even if they are, patients who have no idea nor do their families, and who hardly understand the implications of “informed choice” forms. Please everyone be very careful and talk to a trustworthy doctor, who will also help a lot in relating to our Rabbi the true and accurate facts about the medical condition.
