A “life-threatening” tornado tore through the Chicago suburbs today, leaving behind wreckage in its path but miraculously no reported injuries after the twister touched down in Peoria and Coal City.
By mid-afternoon, the National Weather Service warnings expired for the Chicago area, but tornado and flash flood warnings remained. Earlier, winds up to 70-mph were reported and Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bears, was evacuated and the Bears-Ravens game was postponed. Read more at Chicago Tribune.
