  1. I’m from the paratroopers unit and I was there. It’s about time people realized that not only nestach yehuda soldiers are religious. My draft approximately 50% religious!! And contrary to what the rabbonim keep on telling you, the army IS very accommodating to the needs of the frum soldiers!!

Of course,on the ground level they’re very accommodating .YOU are the best propanganda they could buy

‘nestach yehuda soldiers are religious. My draft approximately 50% religious!!’
    Be frank .
Most are dropouts from various religious families across the country (and globe)

  3. BAD timing, really bad timing.

Lipa was quoted as saying that he is not coming out pro or against the impending draft gezairos, he is just promoting achdus.

Well he doesn’t have to be for or against ALL the gedolim Sefardi, ashkenazi , litvishe, chasssidishe have already come out B’ACDUS against it.Not the best time to be posing with army

  4. #3 – I know this not to be the case. I know many families from chassidish/chareidi and chardali homes and communities who send their children to nachal chareidi lechatchila. These are not drop outs, they are great kids.

It’s rosh chodesh av tomorrow. Please be careful what you write.

  5. Can I get some clarification here? I have heard that IDF soldiers can not keep payis. Or maybe they just can’t have long payos. Does anyone have first hand knowledge on this?

The Israeli army is a peoples army.. people come from all types of backgrounds and meet in the army.. There are soldiers with me with peyos, and beards.

  7. #13 –

I assure you that not only this but much more of what you have heard, second- third- and fourth-hand, about Tzahal, is completely wrong.

I should know. I served proudly in a ‘secular’ combat unit with my Peyelach.

    Shimon

  8. I’m from Shimshon and I was there. It’s about time people realized that not only nestach yehuda soldiers are religious. My draft is approximately 45% religious!! the army IS very accommodating to the needs of the frum soldiers!!

    see #3 & # 17

iirc what about the two who were kicked from iaf pilots course because their beards would affect ‘unit cohesion’ (you most likely were unaware of this )
    I could go on …

furthermore,”very accommodating ” means whatever you might will it to mean
