LISTEN: Frum Yid Returns $2,500 Received Due to Bank Error

1

Yosef Waldman, a resident of Kiryas Yoel, NY, cashed a $25 check at the Sterling National Bank in Monroe yesterday, but instead he received $2,500 due to a mistake made by the bank teller.

The sixth-generation Satmar chossid didn’t realize the error until he got home, at which point he immediately contacted the bank to inform them of the mistake and that he’d be returning every extra penny he had received.

  1. Sixth generation? Did Satmar exist 150 years ago? I know the town Satu Mare or St. Marie in English existed much longer.
