International astronomers said on Tuesday that they had found a possibly habitable planet just 12 light-years from Earth. Astronomers said that the nearby star, Tau Ceti, has five planets circling it, and one of those planets is in the “habitable zone” where water can exist on its surface.

“This discovery is in keeping with our emerging view that virtually every star has planets, and that the galaxy must have many potentially habitable planets,” said Steven Vogt, the U.C. Santa Cruz astronomer on the international team. The telescopes used to observe the planets are located in Hawaii, Chile, and Australia. Read more at San Francisco Chronicle.

  1. I guess I’ll spend 12 there 2 there then 12 back thats 26 years of my life??!!

Who wants to waist there life on that?

    Enjoy your cake.

  2. The public does not realize that our government is spending BILLIONS of dollars a year in a desperate search for life somewhere in outer space. WHY??? Because astronomers realize that the fact that there is such complex life here on earth and none at all anywhere else in our vast enormous universe is evidence of a creator who specifically designed life for a unique purpose. They do not like this. The uniqueness of our earth is like a wrecking ball to their fragile innovation of an accidental universe. They are desperate to find some hint of life somewhere else. After HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS of dollars spent on this pursuit this is what they have come up with, a “possibly habitable planet” 12 light years away! This is laughable. The foolishness is amazing!

  3. the posuk says “vhooretz nossan libnei odom”, i know of know words of genius more than our holy rebbeim z”l and k”v the words of hashem himself.

  4. #9: Then how was man able to land on the moon?

The answer is, in that Pasuk, shamayim does not mean “sky” and aretz does not mean “ground”. In fact, nowhere in tanach do these words have such a simple meaning.

Please look in the deeper meforshim for a better understanding of Lashon Kodesh, which is consistent with space travel and life on other planets.
