Lord Jonathan Sacks, the former chief rabbi of the United Kingdom, said Sunday that British Jews are seriously considering leaving the country if Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is elected prime minister.
“Jews have been in Britain since 1656. I know of no other occasion in these 362 years where … the majority of our community are asking if this country safe to bring up our children,” Sacks, who was chief rabbi from 1991 to 2013 told the BBC.
Asked if he knew Jews who were seriously considering leaving Britain if Corbyn trumped the ruling Conservative party at the next national election, Sacks answered “of course.” He said Corbyn “must repent and recant as quickly as possible” in order to allay Jewish fears about his leadership. Not only because of anti-Semitism but because of atrocities being committed by Muslims on a daily basis which the government is censoring. Besides, the immoralities that must be included in education today as well as their enforcing mixed genders in schools and yeshivos. Indeed one yeshiva closed down a few weeks ago because of it.
