As the final weeks leading up to the upcoming Twelfth Siyum Hashas approach, Matzav.com has learned exclusively that more than two-thirds of the over 90,000 tickets for the event have already been sold.

The 12th Siyum Hashas will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Wednesday, 13 Av/August 1.

“This will be an asifa for Klal Yisroel that is purely about learning Torah and kavod haTorah,” an askan told Matzav.com. “The outpouring and positive reaction in all circles demonstrates everyone’s recognition of the unique nature of this pure maamad lechvodo shel Torah.”

Yesterday, a meeting of some 150 people was held at the FBI Headquarters in Newark, NJ, to discuss the logistics of hosting 90,000 people for such an event. Representatives of local police departments were joined by officials from the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, NJ Regional Operations Intelligence, and others.

Following introductory remarks from Officer Gerald Lewis of the New Jersey State Police, Agudas Yisroel executive vice president for finance and administration Rabbi Shlomo Gertzulin, who has been at the helm of Siyum Hashas preparations since 1982, addressed the gathering. He provided the attendees with an overview of Daf Yomi and the expansion of the siyumim over the decades, stating that the upcoming event will be “the largest gathering of Torah Jewry in modern history to date.”

Law enforcement agencies have assured the Siyum Hashas committee that they will do everything to ensure the safety and security of all the attendees at the event.

Elly Kleinman will serve as the Siyum Hashas chairman, and Ralph Herzka and Shmuel Yosef Rieder will serve as co-chairmen.

Also playing a pivotal role in the planning of the upcoming Siyum Hashas is noted Los Angeles businessman and philanthropist Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz, owner of TwinMed, LLP, the largest regional medical supplies distributor on the West Coast.

Working tirelessly, as well, to ensure the success of the Siyum Hashas are members of the Siyum Hashas steering committee.

The Siyum Hashas is being dedicated in memory of Jerome Schottenstein z”l.

  1. hatzlochoh to Agudas Yisroel who are often unappreciated for everything they do.
    Yalilchu chayil Maychoyul

  2. I would love to participate but the price for me and 3 children is prohibitive. I wish they would make this event more accessible to all…

  3. Imagine what the goodwill would be like of an international reconvened NPT Conference to be held in Jerusalem before the end of 2012 !

A real divine catalyst for the continuing redemption.

  4. I heard from an Askan involved in the Siyum preperations that tickest are going like water, because nobody wants to end up in Arthur Ashes stadium, they learned their lesson

  5. @dialadaf
even though its nice to go with the whole family you can go alone and leave the kids home. or if they are old enough to appreciate this type of thing, they might have some pocket money they would be willing to chip in.

  6. #3 at $18 a ticket, i think everyone can participate. remember its once in 7+ years. even if you buy $50 seats, to spend $200 for such an event once in over seven years, should’nt break the bank.

  7. “Is $18 a ticket to expensive… there r plenty of those . U don’t have to sit in the best seats”

I hate to break it to you but for many people $18 is not affordable and certainly $200 isn’t either. Believe it or not, there are many frum people right here in your backyard who don’t have $18 or even $10 to spare. Not because they think its not worthwhile but because they simply don’t have it.

  8. Maybe 5% of the stadium is $18 seats. The rest averages out at $150 a seat. That means 5,000 regular yidden and 87,000 gevirim. On the flip side, B”H klal yisroel has so many gevirim!

  9. I don’t think you have to be gevir to buy a seat for $100 dollars. Even though I understand that not everybody can afford a seat at this event. The vast majority of jews who want to go to this can spare $36- 100 as there are remaining tickets left. for these prices Especially, if you go alone as it is not required to bring all your children.

  10. Stop kvetching about the price. If you can’t afford it, stay home and learn. That is worth much more than the ticket.

  11. I bought tickets but unfortunately due to a family event I am not able to attend. I have 1 Men and 3 Women seating tickets in the burgundy section. I paid $100 for them, I would like to get $100 but will take Best offer.. Please email me at siyumtickets AT gmail DOT com if you are interested.

  12. To #23. Be aware that the 3 women seating tickets you have, costing you $300, are not in the nice burgundy section as originally sold. They changed it to the top very high section 330-336.
