The Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, Stephen M. Greenberg, and CEO Malcolm Hoenlein, said Wednesday that PA President Mahmoud Abbas was derailing efforts to restart Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, Times of Israel reports.
“President Abbas has consistently openly promoted the denial of any Jewish connection to Jerusalem to his own people, in the UN and its agencies and bodies, and in international legal fora. His threat to go to the United Nations to undo the U.S. measure – which it cannot do – and to gain recognition of the State of Palestine is the death knell for negotiations.”
The two said Abbas’ refusal to negotiate “in good faith” over the years was the reason a peace agreement has remained elusive. “It is up to responsible leaders in the region and around the world to prevent President Abbas from proceeding toward a dangerous dead end.”

  1. No no no. Both sides must stop the inflammatory statements. Both sides have to tone down the rhetoric. Both sides must stop shooting rockets. Both sides must sit down by the negotiating table and Israel must concede more land. Both sides both sides both sides both sides.
I’ve spoken to Susan Rice and she assured me she will pressure Israel to cave in.
