Authorities say a man was pulled out of the Hudson River alive after jumping off New York’s Tappan Zee Bridge. The center of the span is roughly 11 stories above the water.
Several people died last year after plunging off the Tappan Zee, which links Westchester and Rockland counties.
Numerous rescue agencies sprang into action when the man jumped around 8:40 p.m. last night.
Tarrytown’s fire chief says the patient was alert and cooperative when he was pulled out of the water.
He was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.
