Marco Rubio is telling his staff to “proceed as if he is running for president,” according to one senior adviser, as the Florida senator takes steps to launch an official bid. He’ll need $50 million in funds to run in the primaries, which Anna Rogers, a finance director for American Crossroads, has been signed on to tackle.
Rubio will also skip all Senate votes next week to make fundraising trips to California, Texas, and Chicago.
He has also scheduled a book tour that will include early primary states like Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Florida, and Nevada. Read more at ABC News.
