Marriott ended its fight to block personal wi-fi usage within its hotels on Wedensday, ending a legal and public relations battle that included a $600,000 fine from the FFC for blocking access at one of its resort and convention centers.

The hotel chain conceded last month when it said it would not block personal hot spots in guests’ rooms, but was seeking approval from the FCC to do so in conference facilities. Wednesday’s statement explained it would no longer block personal wi-fi anywhere in its facilities, but it is still looking at potential security issues.

“Marriott International listens to its customers, and we will not block guests from using their personal Wi-Fi devices at any of our managed hotels,” a spokesman told Inc. in statement. Read more at Inc.
